I interrupt your regularly scheduled programming

I interupt your regularly scheduled programming with this public service announcement. So, I wasn't aware I wouldn't have intenet access while out of town... All I have is my cell phone. Not the best blogging friendly device. I will be back home Tuesday afternoon and things will return to normal. Tasty Tuesday will go up later that afternoon, instead of early that morning. The halloween contest voting will open Tuesday evening instead of tomorrow... well, in ten minutes. Voting will last until Saturday @ 11 pm PST. I will post a winner by midnight.

I apologize for dropping the ball. But I promise to make up for it with a super exciting announcement. Cross my heart, you'll like it! Be sure to come back Wednesday morning! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Stay safe!

Happy Halloween!

NEVER MIND... I HAVE A PRETTY AWESOME MR RIGHT THAT FIXED ME UP!  COSTUME CONTEST VOTING IS NOW ACTIVE.  GET YOUR VOTE IN!  AND MAKE SURE TO COME BACK WEDNESDAY MORNING!  IT'LL BE WORTH IT, PROMISE!

Weekend Wander #3

This week I'm doing something a little different.  I am out of town this weekend, so you get to do Fanciful Friday with me!  Link up all your neat stuff!  I am so excited to see all the links when I get back.  Everyone have a fun, safe and happy Halloween!  I may still check in every once in a while, but if you ask a question it probably won't get answered until Tuesday or Wednesday.  Also, don't forget to stop by this next week and vote on the costume contest!  Voting starts Sunday, Oct 31.  Winner will receive something very cool!  Hint: If you have a project with vinyl you'd like to do, make sure you enter the contest!  Contest closes Saturday Night!  Now, on with the party!

Check these out from last week:

How cute is this jack-o-lantern shirt by Krafty Kat!

My Mr. Right is gonna love these whole wheat scones by Sheena at The Best of Mama Chef.

Love, LOVE, LOVE this layered pearl necklace by Kara's Kreations!  So in LOVE!!

Anything with chocolate and peanut butter is definitely right up my alley!  These cupcakes by Michelle at Polka Dots and Pizza are right at the top of my to-try list!  Yum!

Awesome work, ladies!  Feel free to grab a featured button in the sidebar.

On to the Party!
The Rules:
1. All links MUST be family friendly.  Or I will delete it.

That's it.  Don't wanna follow?  Don't (But I would love it if you would... Cool stuff happens here, don't miss out!  Check out my calendar for an idea of what's gonna be happening).  Don't wanna link back?  That's alright.  I understand that's just one more thing in your already busy life.  I would appreciate any help in spreading the word about Weekend Wander, but no pressure.  If you like what you see and plan on being a regular, I'd love for you to add my name to your link party list (who doesn't have one of those, right!?!) or my button to your blog.  Really don't want to?  That's ok.  I won't tell you off or write you mean anonymous comments, promise!  I just enjoy seeing everyone's ideas.  However, by linking, you are giving me permission to use your photos in a feature of your project.  Of course, this feature will include a link back to the original post.  Thanks!

October Spooktacular: Halloween Date Night

My husband and I have date night every week.  We started this when we first got married.  It kinda didn't happen so much once our little monkey was born.  When we moved into my parent's house (and free babysitting!  Thanks Mom and sisters!) we revived the tradition.  Mostly to keep our sanity.  With so many people under one roof, we need the time to reconnect as a couple and to reunite as Mom and Dad to the monkey.  This is an at-home date, something I miss most desperately by the way.  Inexpensive and totally do-able after the kiddos are in bed.  Everyone wins.

You can decorate a bit if you like, to help set the atmosphere.  Spider web, caution tape and plastic spiders are pretty cheap.  And they do a good job.  Find a cheap Dollar Store bowl, spray paint it black and call it a cauldron.  Put some individually wrapped candies in it to munch on.

Dinner:  Include your kiddos in this one.  They will be so thrilled!  If you haven't already done the Spider Web Nachos until they are coming out your ears, this would be a great time to try it.  Also, some cute little bone breadsticks with optional blood (marinara) sauce for dipping are nice appetizers.  You could also do Mummy Sticks (hotdogs wrapped in breadsticks).  I usually do Shirley Temples (gingerale, orange juice and grenadine) for the beverage with a little orange food coloring in them to give 'em that Halloween touch and a nice treat.  You could also do some fun cupcakes or cookies for dessert.

If you haven't already, now would be a fantastic time to carve pumpkins.  My Mr. Right and I each carve our own for now, I'm sure that will change as more kiddos come along.  It's fun to see each other's creativity.  If you have already carved your pumpkins, check out a corn maze or pumpkin patch.  Or drive around and look at all the Halloween decorations.  Find some Halloween games online.  There's lots of ideas out there.

After you get the kids to bed, cuddle up and watch a scary movie.  Not a big fan of Horror films (I'm not), go for a Thriller/Suspense instead.  I get way too caught up in movies to sleep well after I watch scary ones... and as a momma, I treasure my sleep!  Pull out a bag from your Halloween stash (you can replace it later if you need to).  Pop some corn, some drinks and a nice cozy blanket.  Enjoy your snuggle.

Halloween Costume Contest Voting!

Thank you to everyone who linked up costumes!  They are all so fantastic!  So glad it's not up to me to pick the winner!  So, let the voting begin!

Leave a comment with the number you are voting for.  All the costumes have numbers by their names.  I don't care if you include the name or not, but make sure the number is in your comment (or I won't count the vote).  Please only vote for one costume in each comment.  You may submit as many votes as you would like to.  Thanks!  Good Luck!

Voting will be open until Saturday, November 6th at 11pm PST.  I will announce the winner by midnight!

This linky list is now closed.
