TIN FOIL DINNERS
Ingredients:
4 Small Potatoes
6-7 Carrots
1/2 lb Ground Beef
You can put in other things like: celery, bell peppers, or whatever your little taste buds desire. You can also substitute the hamburger for chicken, pork, venison, ect.
Directions:
Put your hamburger on to brown. Wash and chop your veggies while occasionally stirring your hamburger. When your meat is cooked, form your assembly line. Tear off four sheets of tin foil and pile appropriate amounts in the middle of each.
My Mr. Right gets more than Little Monkey… When all your veggies and meat are appropriately divided onto the sheets of foil, take one sheet and put the opposite side together, wrapping around your pile of veggies and meat. Roll the foil down a couple times to hold it together. Roll the ends, securing your food inside the foil pouch.
I usually wrap with another layer of foil, because I don’t like cleaning the oven… Bake at 450 F for 30-45 minutes or until veggies are tender. Enjoy!

My mom used to do this quite often. She would also add a little onion as well. I think I'm going to have to do this myself soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Yum! Why didn't I have that for dinner? Thanks for the recipe!

My mom used to do this with potatoes, garlic, cheese and some spices and we always loved it. Can't get any easier than this!
ReplyDeleteI love making these in the summer with the first vegies from the garden. but I do them out on the fire in a chiminea because like you said it does heat up the house. good thing the basement stays nice and cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite recipes! I light the grill and throw them on out there to keep the kitchen cool, though. I also add a bit of butter for the potatoes and carrots and a few shakes of seasoned salt and garlic powder. YUM!
ReplyDeleteI love foil dinners. This is what I am making for dinner tonight.
ReplyDeleteAround our house, we call these Hobo Suppers. They are sooo yummy!! I use the grill outside to cook them as well. They bring back memories of making these as a girl scout. Thanks for sharing!
