I’ve used the “cake mix” style but did a couple of things different that you might like. I used the juice from the peaches. I put 1/2 juice and 1/2 milk in my cake portion. I also put the cake in the bottom and the peaches on top (it “grows” around the peaches which is lovely). I then take melted butter and a couple of teaspoons of the juice and brush it on top of the cake about 2/3 of the way through the baking (just as the cake sets but not brown yet). It makes the top kind of crunchy and lovly buttery. Thought you might like to try my version next.
