If you (or a reader) want to do that, you first need to prime the canvas with something called gesso. It’s pretty cheap and you can buy it at an art supply store or online (cheap joe’s, Dick Blick, ASW…) and there are directions all over the internet too. Just didn’t want any one disappointed after the effort to stretch the canvas!
