I'm so glad you found it helpful! I tried pumping exclusively with my first and it was HARD. Kuddos to you you mama! I only lasted about a month and a half before I quit. I wish I'd stuck with it longer though. The first few months I felt like I pretty much went around topless. Hands down, my favorite are the nursing tanks! =) Good luck to you and congrats on your sweet baby. Breastfeeding is time consuming, but so so so totally worth it. The right wardrobe can definitely help make it easier.

As a first time mom to a now 1 month old, all I can say is thank you for this post! Although I am an exclusive pumper right now (we still work on breast feeding but she really doesnt like being on the breast) i still wouls love to have the option of wearing a full top. I have been living in my nursing bra for WAY too long! Theae clothing options would also do wonders for me to pump in, especially when im not home and still need to pump and not feel and be all exposed. Thank you so much! And you're definitely right about breastfeeding taking a lot of time, it's a full time job and exclusively pumping is like working overtime, but so worth the benefits :)

No problem. It's nice to have some tools for the job. I told my husband that nursing in regular shirts was like mowing the lawn with scissors. You're going to have to mow the lawn all summer - and the next summer and the next - it will be worth the investment of a lawn mower! You'll probably spend more time nursing than mowing the lawn. That should be worth a little investment too. =)

In reply to Suzzy Q.

I never said it was a waste of time, simply that it takes a lot of it. As a busy, part-time WAHM, it can be frustrating, when deadlines are looming, to have to stop in the middle of a project to feed the baby. If I really felt it was a waste of time, I wouldn't bother with it. There are other ways to feed an infant. Truth is, there are many benefits to breastfeeding - and they ARE worth the hassle that breastfeeding can be.

However, I wouldn't call it a reward. A reward is what you get after you've worked hard. Pregnancy is definitely hard work, but nursing isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It can be really hard too. I wish someone would have told me that before my first baby. I might have tried harder with him to nurse if I had known that it can hurt and it probably will be inconvenient at some point. Being the sole provider of such an essential need is a big responsibility and I didn't adequately know what to expect. Is it worth the pain and inconvenience? Yes. The reward is a happy and healthy child who will, hopefully, be grateful one day for all the time spent in nurturing them.

More often than not, my baby needs to eat in the middle of dinner preparations; or as soon as I sit down to feed him, someone else needs something and I have to spend the next 15 minutes distracting that child until I can get up again. For me, nursing is anything but restful. Yet, I have done it with my last two children and plan to do it with any future ones. Breastfeeding is absolutely not a waste of time, but it will use a lot of the time you do have and it isn't all goo-goo eyes between mom and baby either. I'm simply trying to find ways to make it a little easier and more convenient.

I seriously had NO IDEA that H&M sold nursingwear. I have a couple GlamourMom and Bravado nursing tanks that I live in when nursing and they're getting really worn out. Will definitely have to check out your suggestions, Krista. Thank you!
