Guest Post: Fairly Fabulous

Today we have Meagan here to introduce us to her adorable blog.  She is a lot of fun and has some great stuff over at Fairly Fabulous.  I love Meagan and her blog because I can relate in soo many ways, it’s always nice to know that there are others out there like you.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Meagan here from, well- my blog just got a pretty huge makeover (thank you, Sugar and Dots!) so now I’m coming to you from Fairly Fabulous: a mom’s quest through this fairly fabulous life!
What started as a Stay at Home Mom’s quest for her Bathing Suit body, quickly morphed into something much larger- a place for this {now} working mama to vent, share, create, and, well- just be- me, whatever ‘me’ is on a given day. I have to admit, when Krista announced she needed some help during her move, I jumped at the chance to be a tiny part of her fill in team. Little ole me? Over at While he was Napping?! Seriously? And she thinks I’m doing her a favor? In the words of Mater- SSHhhhooooot. – I digress….
When Krista gave me the big thumbs up for April 12th, I had a hundred things I wanted to post about. Surely by April 12th, I’ll have the huge bookshelf makeover I’ve been ‘in the middle of’ for over a month finished.
Surely I’ll have some direction for my living room color scheme to share with you excitedly!
Then there are all the fabulous new Spring and Easter items I’ll SURELY have completed and listed in my etsy shop.
But alas, life took over- none of those things are even CLOSE to ready and here we are- 9:07pm on April 11th. Breadwinner is here next to me on the couch- it’s a little like the twilight zone.
See, usually by now the girls are in bed (Big Sister- 4 1/2 yrs old, Little Sister 2 1/2 yrs old), Breadwinner is on his way to snoozing town, and I’m settled in the big comfy living room chair blogging my heart away.
Tonight, Breadwinner came home from work early, spent the entire evening playing with the girls, helping me put away laundry, and now snuggling on the couch. Twilight zone.
After a long, and less than perfect day-I now sit here with a much different perspective. See, we got a letter from our little friend in Uganda today. Four years ago, we decided to sponsor Talemwa through African Renewal Ministries. Every few months we get a letter from him with a picture letting us know how he’s doing. Today, he was thanking us for the *tiny* extra we sent for Christmas back in October. Do you know what he bought for himself? Our little 12 year old boy in Uganda bought a mattress. Not a PS3 game, songs for his ipod, or even a silly soccer ball- nope, a mattress.
After complaining to my husband for hours this evening about all the uncertainty and frustration in our lives right now, we opened our letter from Talemwa and got knocked back down a few hundred pegs.
So here I am- 9:32pm on April 11th- still not sure what I’m writing about, but feeling blessed. Oh so blessed with a garage full of paint, a room full of fabric, all the supplies I need to finish all my frivolous projects- and a nice comfy mattress that I didn’t have to buy with my Christmas money. Perspective. It’s a beautiful thing.
Krista- enjoy unpacking and decorating your new space! Thanks for letting me camp out in your little corner of the world today. I can’t promise my life or blog are always perfect, but I do my best to make things Fairly Fabulous! Stop by sometime and join me on my quest.

Thanks for coming Meagan.  That was so what I needed to read.  Our “dream home” has a few more quirks and wrinkles than we realized, so we’re working through that.  We still have stuff at my Mom’s house (a week into this moving process…) and we’re running out of room in our house.  We know we have too much stuff, but it just became so overwhelming while I was trying to put the cereal boxes away and we don’t have a SINGLE cabinet that is tall enough to put cereal boxes in.  It was that last straw on the camel’s back.  Thank you, Meagan, for the reminder that at least I have a house.  And too much stuff, instead of not even having a mattress to sleep on!

I hope you guys have a great day!  And remember what is really important in life!  It’s not the projects, the blog posts, the followers (although I have the best ones EVER!) or even lazy workmanship and cabinets that can’t hold cereal boxes.  I truly am a very fortunate, lucky, and blessed girl.  I hope you guys are too.

Now, get over to Meagan’s blog and say “hi!”  Tell her how famous she is now.  =]

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
