I- Indulge, I Love You, In-Tents, Intimate, Imagination, Imitation, Important, Impulse, Infinite, Invitation, Irresistible, Island
Indulgence Kit- Last year, for I, my Honey got an indulgence kit. It had some of his favorite things in it. For example: A Dr. Pepper and a fresh lime (his poison of choice), a Sonic Gift card, some chocolate, and things for a massage – oils, lotions, candles and a CD of relaxing music.
I Love You- Do something big! A large sign painted on butcher paper or poster board and hung above your bed ought to get the message across.
In-Tents- Ok, because I was am a goofy girl, I went through a phase of saying “That’s intense, like camping” while My Mr. Right and I were dating. Corny and dumb, but turns out it’s helpful now. It is no longer a staple of my vocabulary (in fact, it’s pretty much a thing of the past), but it will be great when I set up our two-man tent (which my 6’3″ husband doesn’t actually fit in) in the living room (or the backyard) and we have a “camp-out” tonight, complete with a little invite this morning that said “My love for you is intense, like camping. Join me tonight?”. Roast s’mores in the fireplace (or make them in the microwave or find another s’more dessert recipe) and it’s ok if there’s a little fire in the tent tonight. Hang foil stars from the ceiling for a little extra special touch.
Invitation- Send your sweetie an invitation for your special Valentine’s Day plans. It’s always nice to actually be invited. And it can help build up the anticipation. Anticipation is a good thing! Or invite him to your next date night.
Island- Plan an Island-themed Date night. Serve Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner. Banana boats for dessert. Have a limbo contest. Build a “sandcastle” out of sugar cubes. Soak your feet in the ‘ocean’ (bathtub or a small kiddie pool in the kitchen or somewhere easy to mop up). Or go super simple. We have our computer hooked up to our TV, so it’s really easy to get a large photo of somewhere displayed prominently. A picnic in front of a beach isn’t as good, but it’s still a great memory.
