Hi everyone! My name is Kendall and I’m from the blog Songbird’s and Buttons and today I wanted to introduce myself and show you a few things from my Etsy shop that I thought you might enjoy. I am brand-new to blogger and Etsy so I appreciate it so much that Krista is featuring her follower’s. How sweet of her, right? I just found out that I will be expecting a little one after months and months of trying and many, many doctors telling me that it couldn’t happen. My husband and I are ecstatic! My main loves are my kitties, crafting, thrifting and my husband. {Wait, that order seems a bit off.} 🙂 

On my blog I talk about all things crafty and on my Etsy I try to create all things cute and adorable from pillows to headbands, cards to owls. Because looking at pretty things makes everyone feel better, right? And having some extra income to save for baby ain’t bad either. Here are a few of the pretty and cute things you’ll find at Songbird’s and Buttons. If you have the time, come on by say hello and poke around my store! I missed last week’s Hoo Are You… it’s was a crazy week.  Unpacking, sick baby, piles of laundry, gearing up for Christmas in my Etsy shop.  And trying to get things in order to deliver gifts on our next trip.  I have to have Christmas done for 2/3 of my list in the next two weeks.  Like I said, cRaZy!  So, anyway, here are this week’s questions.

5. Do you think the time should change or leave it alone?
Leave it alone.  It messes my little boy all up! 

It was one of those mornings when everything went wrong. The alarms didn’t go off, the shoes were misplaced, the diaper bag wasn’t packed, we couldn’t find any of the three ties that fit our little boy. And to make matters worse, the baby was trying to take a drink of some lemonade and he dumped it all over the floor just before we were about to walk out the door. We watched with wide eyes and baited breath as the lemonade went all over the floor, but miraculously missed our son.  My Mr Right and I looked and each other and you could see us both thinking ‘whew, at least he didn’t get any on him.’ And then Little Monkey spits out a mouthful… all over his church clothes!  UGH!

Since then we try to have the diaper bag packed the night before, the shoes located and sometimes, when it’s one of those mornings, we just go with the tie that’s already attached to the shirt!

So, this year we find ourselves living with my parents.  My Mr. Right was at training one weekend with the Army when I got a text message from him.  The message went a little something like this: “Don’t spend very much money.  “Company X” just closed down.”  (Company X being none other than the company he worked for).  I read it and just about broke into tears… along with a fussy baby in the background.  Basically, our whole world changed in a matter of moments.  In two years, we’d been unemployed three times.  Seems to be the story for a lot of people right now.

My point being… Even though the situation is not ideal and there are currently seven people crammed into a 4 bedroom house (eight people come January), I am still grateful that I have somewhere to go at the end of the day.  True, it might just be the bedroom I share with both my husband and our 15 month old son, but at least it is somewhere.  And I’m grateful I have parents that are willing to help us find employment and open their home to us.  For however long we end up living here.  Although, please, Please, PLEASE don’t let it be too much longer!
