Witch Away Kit with U by Kotex® and CVS

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ConfidenceUDeserve #CollectiveBias

Are you one of those ladies that can plan your schedule around that time of the month? Or maybe Aunt Flo is more of a drop-in kind of guest for you? Does she pass through your life with little more than a fleeting “hello-goodbye”? Or does she come and stay WAAAY passed her welcome? I have had all those interactions with every lady’s favorite aunt. But, more often than not, she comes bounding in at the least convenient times, stays days longer than I want her to and, sometimes, even brings out my inner witch. But even in October, I try to keep her under wraps. Cue the Witch Away Kit.

WITCH AWAY KIT
with U by Kotex® & CVS

Witch Away Kit with Kotex period survival kit

The idea behind the Witch Away Kit is to pamper yourself just a little more than usual. Take a little more “me time” and don’t let that wily aunt wreak havoc; don’t let her pesky ways get to you. Being a lady has it’s ups and downs. Make more ups for yourself and celebrate being a woman. Because being a woman is awesome.

Every woman’s Witch Away Kit may look a little different. Splurge a little and get things you love and enjoy and wish you had more time for. Stash them in your kit. When you’re feeling down or under the weather and that pesky aunt is being particularly persistent with her antics, pull out your kit and show her who’s boss, because, Girl, it’s YOU! Here is what is in my Witch Away Kit:

Materials:
– U by Kotex® Ultra Thin Pads®
– U by Kotex® Barely There Liners®
– pain reliever of choice
– chocolate (it’s dark chocolate, it’s good for you, right?!)
– guilty pleasure magazines
– foot scrub (or face scrub you plan to use on your feet)
– moisturizing lotion
– nail polish remover
– cotton pads
– pedicure kit (get as fancy as you please. I went for the deluxe kit and haven’t regretted it!)
– new nail polish (yes, get new ones. Even if you have 122,234 bottles at home. There’s something special about a new bottle. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Unless you have a color that you just absolutely LOVE in your stash at home.)

Witch Away Kit with Kotex Whats in my period survival kit
Witch Away Kit with Kotex witchy setting
I scored all my loot at my local CVS and I keep all these fun things in a cauldron. Yes, a cauldron. Where else would that inner witch keep her stash? It is October after all; she might peek through more than usual. And it all fits so phenomenally, I couldn’t pass it up.

Witch Away Kit with Kotex InStore

Are you more of a tampon kind of girl? U by Kotex® also has some great tampons. I find I don’t use tampons a whole awful lot since having my babies, so I don’t keep a lot of them on hand. Since my hips have widened, I just cant seem to find one that fits me well. There are some neat U by Kotex® Click® compact ones that offer full-sized protection in one easy move though. When it clicks, it’s ready to insert. Perfect for when you want to carry a spare in your pocket. And the U by Kotex® Sleek® tampons sound like they would be perfect for someone with the opposite of my hip problem. Their smooth tip and slim size help you get the perfect fit.

Witch Away Kit with Kotex U by Kotex® Products

If you like the pad option, the Ultra Thin pads I got have the U by Kotex® 3D Capture Core® with Xpress DRI that quickly draws in and locks away wetness, which is a feature I love. No one wants to sit in their own puddle. {Insert shudder now… Eeesh.}

Be sure to grab this coupon for $2 off your next U by Kotex® purchase and go now and check out more of the U by Kotex® feminine hygiene products line! If you want even more ideas on how you can pamper yourself when Auntie Flo comes to town, check out these other fun and fabulous ideas!

Get Back to Campus with a Schick Gift Basket

I told you about my shopping trip to Walmart the other day with my sister to get her ready to go back to campus.  I very rarely ever miss being in school – because, homework – and I can’t even imagine trying to do it with little kids at home.  Those of you who do school with little ones to care for too are superheroes. Watching my siblings start back to classes this past week almost made me wish I was going back too – Almost. It did make me want to give my siblings a little something to say good luck, so I made them each a Schick Gift Basket!

image

DISPOSABLE RAZORS ARE PERFECT FOR A BACK TO CAMPUS SCHICK GIFT BASKET

These aren’t anything real fancy or extravagant.  Just a little “hey, I’m thinking about you. Good Luck!” I made two Schick Gift baskets, one for my sister and one for my brother.

I got my sister a new nail polish, some lotion, a package of Schick® Quattro For Women® disposable razors, and some body spray and attached a little note wishing her the best semester.  She spends her days in classes and her nights studying or with friends.  Heading to class or out with the girls, she’ll look her best.  Every girl needs soft legs and pretty toes sometimes, even if it’s only for a rare Friday night at home or the frequent study group at the library. Feeling great is the first step to awesome confidence, which every woman needs. Putting together this Schick Gift Basket was a snap!
Schick Gift Basket for her

My brother’s Schick Gift Basket was a little more difficult.  He’s majoring in chemical engineering, in his senior year, has two kids and a wife to help care for and support, works part-time on top of going to school and has bills to pay (like the hospital bill from the birth of his son back in May…).

He’s got a little more pressure on his shoulders and I wanted to get him something so he can relax and enjoy his last year of school a little.  His Schick Gift Basket contained a new tie, a package of Schick® Xtreme3® disposable razors, some cologne, and I made him a coupon for free baby-sitting. Hopefully, he and his wifey will cash in and enjoy a night out together. Or a night in and use the money they would’ve gone out with to buy diapers or pay the rent… you know, those pesky things. Or maybe he’ll just go and do something alone. That guy is never alone and I’m sure he could use a little down time. Every man needs a good razor and a night out!

SCHICK GIFT BASKETS ARE THE PERFECT AFFORDABLE, USABLE GIFT FOR YOUR FAVORITE CO-EDS

I didn’t spend a lot on these little gifts.  I’m not buying books or anything; but, I’m not made of money. College is a great time in life, but going back to campus can be stressful too. Especially, in 6 weeks when mid-terms roll around.  Hopefully, my brother and sister can have a little fun. It’s a rough semester when you’re up to your eyebrows in books and work the whole time.

College should be fun and I hope I was able to help my brother and sister enjoy their current semester a little. Both of them are almost done with school. Someday, they might be the ones getting all nostalgic in the Back to School section of Walmart, almost wishing they could go back to school too. Almost.

Back To Campus with Schick Disposable Razors

Are you tired of all things ‘back to school’?  Are you settled into your routine and the excitement of back to school is wearing down quickly?  Or are you just starting back?  While my little family is settling into the routine of being back in school and it’s almost old news, my siblings that live locally just started their college classes again last week.  One of my favorite things about college: the schedule.  Start back the end of August and out a few weeks before Christmas for a whole month and then done again by the middle of May.  It’s perfection.  Get in, get your work done and then get out.  College is, by no means, an easy thing to complete; but, I prefer the heavier work load with more break time to the schedule that Big J and our county public school system has.

Helping my sister get ready for her last year of college was so much.  We got some great sister bonding time and it was fun to reflect on my college experience.  We headed to Walmart with her list of college life must-haves.  We hit the back to school section and chaos ensued in our search for notebooks, paper, a ruler – she’s a design major and can’t seem to get enough rulers, pencils, erasers and colored pencils.  But our shopping didn’t end once we were finished in the back to school section of the store.  We headed over to health and beauty for some of the most important college supplies.

We picked up the basics: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, extra hair ties and bobby pins, a spray bottle, her preferred hair care products, a new toothbrush and toothpaste, and deodorant.  Then we made sure to get enough Schick Disposable products to keep hairy situations under control.  I even picked up some of the NEW Schick® Xtreme3® Disposable razors for Mr Napping.  They are his favorite kind of disposable razors and I like my man clean-shaven.  They had the Schick Hydro 5 disposable razors too, which I’ve actually used and they are pretty nice.  It was pretty apparent other people liked them too, by the empty shelves.

I also grabbed some more disposable razors for myself – women’s this time – because shaving never ends and the worst thing ever is to try and shave with a dull disposable razor.  I love the Schick® Quattro For Women® because the quadruple blades get all the way to the base of my hair without having to repeatedly shave over my legs.  I’ll admit, I’m not the most consistent shaver once the shorts and capris get put in the closet and swimsuit season is over.  When those pants come back out, the length between shaves and my leg hair grows longer and longer as it gets colder and colder.  The Schick® Quattro For Women® helps keep the time I do shave to a minimum so I can do much more important things than shave my legs!

How would you like $10,000 to put toward tuition?! Right now, you can snap a summer selfie and enter to win 1 of 4 grand prizes, plus lots of other fun prizes too! See contest details for full rules and regulations.

The Best Baby Shower Ideas

Hey there! Thanks for visiting! Let’s talk about baby showers.

They seem to be a love it or hate it kind of thing. What about you, do you love them or not? I’m in the NOT category for the most part. I find them awkward.

Can you relate? Are you planning a baby shower and want something more than “name the candy bar in the diaper” game. Or how about the game where you guess how many inches it takes to get around mommy’s tummy? Eek. Not my idea of a good time.

If you are looking for baby shower ideas that will be fun, memorable, and aren’t the same shower games you’ve played at every baby shower you’ve ever been to, keep reading.

These are ideas that everyone one will love, even the mom who doesn’t love being the center of attention.

Can your guests get through the whole shower without saying “baby”? There’s a fun game to find out if they are up to the task. Do your party-goers know how much babies cost? Find out with a Price is Right game – Baby Edition.

Baby shower games can be awkward and embarrassing. My sister-in-law had a game at her shower where everyone cut off a length of ribbon they thought would fit around mom and baby. So, if the ribbon isn’t long enough you lose, if it’s too long you just called a pregnant woman fat…

I’m small, so by the time I hit 6 months people are asking me if I’m “due any day now”… It’s uncomfortable and doesn’t really make me feel that great. Don’t put Mom on the spot! Celebrate with her, not her belly. Yes, celebrate the baby that will soon be welcomed to Earth, but celebrate mom too!
With these games, everyone will have a good time!

BABY SHOWER MATCHING GAMES:

  • Baby Animal Names Game. Test your party-goers zoology knowledge by asking players to name the baby versions of each animal. Grab the printable from Printable Baby.

Baby Shower Games - Name that Baby

  • Don’t say “Baby”. The player with the most clothes pins is the big momma on campus! How long can your guests last at a party celebrating a baby without talking about it?! Find the details on The D Spot.
Baby Shower Games - Don't Say Baby
  • Do your guests know how much it costs to have a baby? Find out with The Price is Right – Baby Shower Edition! Find it on Fugal Fanatic.

  •  Candy Match Up. Can you match these candies with the baby related words? Is 100 Grand the hospital bill or the college fund? Find this instant download printable game on Etsy.

MORE BABY SHOWER GAMES:
  • This is a fun game if you’re going to have mom open her gifts during the party. Add a little more thrill to watching someone else get all the gifts. Get the printable at Frugal Fanatic.
  •  I think this is such a fun momento for mom! How fun would it be to see which of your friends is the closest? You can decide how much info to give your guests. Keep it vague with nothing but the due date or divulge some clues. Did any siblings come early? Are there any stats you want to share? Baby’s last estimated weight, for example… Don’t forget to have Mom make a prediction too!
Delivery Date Prediction Calendar at While Wearing Heels
  • Nursery Rhyme Quiz time. Who knows their nursery rhymes and lullabies? I love that this one is all about what you know, not how lucky you are. I have terrible luck.
Nursery Rhyme Quiz via Paper Passion Designs on Etsy
  •  Every momma would love to get a whole list of well wishes for her sweet little babe. A variation that might be fun would be for each mom to share her best piece of mom advice with the mom-to-be. We did something similar when I got married and it’s super fun to look back and see what people thought was the most important thing to share.
Wishes for Baby via Stockberry Studio on Etsy
  •  This is similar to the prediction calendar and my add-on idea above, and SOO much more in depth. These would be a fun addition to the baby book.

BABY SHOWER GUEST BOOKS:
How many times have you looked at the guest book from your wedding? Or your graduation party? Or any other time you’ve had a guest book? These guest books aren’t even books and they are perfect to hang in baby’s room. That onesie is absolutely awesome!

BABY SHOWER GAME PRIZES:
Are games worth playing if there isn’t a cool prize? Of course, but cool prizes make it even better, right? This is a prize that anyone would want right?!

From My Shower to Your Shower Scented Bath Soap via Ginger Grey Soaps on Etsy

I also saw a prize pack that included travel sized shower gels, bubble bath and a loofah, but couldn’t find the original photo source so it’s not included.  Definitely a cute idea though.

BABY SHOWER INVITATIONS:

“Bring a book instead of a card” via Moments That Take
This isn’t a new idea, it’s been around for years and popular especially in the last few; however, I really liked the wording of this request.  Of all the ones I read, this is probably the one I’d actually get a book for.

Although, I also liked the wording of this request via Cupid Designs on Etsy, stating the book didn’t have to be new.

BaBy-Que Shower (invite via Sunshine Parties on Etsy)
No reason Dad shouldn’t get to party too.
I actually REALLY love this idea and if I ever have another baby shower,
it will be a co-ed BaBy-Que. Daddy helped bring about this miracle too!
Do you have any great baby shower games you love to play? Did someone give you a super awesome guest book? Share it below in the comments!
