Cheddar Veggie Soup

CHEDDAR VEGGIE SOUP

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 medium Carrots, sliced
  • 2-3 medium Potatoes, diced
  • 3-4 stalks of Celery, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 1/2-2 cups Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
Directions:
Place all sliced veggies, 1 cup of milk and the butter in a pot and heat on medium-high to high heat, covered on the stove.  Simmer on the stove for 20 minutes or until veggies are tender.  When veggies reach desired tenderness,  add the remaining milk.  Simmer until the soup and milk are mixed well.  Serve.
Caution: Soup will be HOT!
This soup is also very yummy with chicken or ham added (also adds some protein).

Pinterest: Permission to Pin

Source

So… remember when I did the little mini-series on Pinterest?  I know it was only a couple weeks ago, but sometimes things blur and run together and it seems like soo much longer than just a couple weeks.  Anywho, I ran across this post on Corkboard Connections the other day and thought “huh, who knew?” when obviously I should have, since I’m a Pinterest addict user and it is in the Terms of Service I agreed to when I signed up for the site.  I’ll admit I did little more than skim the Terms of Service, how about you?

Have you, by chance, noticed the new little button on the right side bar?  Hint, hint: it says “permission to pin”…  Did you know that you need permission to pin other’s images?!  I didn’t.  Why do you need permission?  Well, because of the rights granted to Pinterest when an image is pinned.  Any images on the Pinterest site gives Pinterest “…a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, re-pin, modify (e.g., re-format), re-arrange, and distribute your User Content on Pinterest for the purposes of operating and providing the Service(s) to you and to our other Users. Nothing in these Terms shall restrict Pinterest’s rights under separate licenses to User Content.”  [Source – Found under Paragraph 1, Section b.]  That’s kind of a lot to grant Pinterest without knowing it or having the right to do so, yeah?

If you don’t want your images pinned, you can add a little html code to your site that will make your images “un-pin-able”.  To disable pinning, in the head section of any page on your site, simply add:

<meta name=”pinterest” content=”nopin” />

If you would like to limit the pinning of a single image, and not the whole page, in the image source portion of the photo code, insert:
nopin=”nopin”

You have permission to pin images from While He Was Napping, both the blog and my Etsy shop.  The only stipulation I ask you to follow is please don’t pin images of my family.  My boys may be cute, but I don’t want Pinterest to be able to sell their photos.  Kay? Kay.

Chicken Lasagna

CHICKEN LASAGNA
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb Ready-to-Bake Lasagna Noodles
  • 16 oz Cottage Cheese
  • 2-4 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Jar Alfredo Sauce
  • 2-3 Grilled* Chicken breasts, diced
Directions:
1.  In a 9×13″ pan, spread a thin layer of Alfredo sauce on the bottom of the pan.
2.  Put down a layer of Ready-Bake noodles.
3.  Next, spread a thin layer of cottage cheese over the noodles.
4.  Lay down a layer of shredded cheese.
5.  Sprinkle your diced chicken breast pieces on top of the cheese.
6.  Repeat 1-2 times.
7.  Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes.
Serve.
Side dish ideas:
Citrus Glazed Carrots
Steamed Asparagus
Orange Slices
– You can also use regular lasagna noodles for this recipe; but, obviously, it adds to your prep time.

*  I keep grilled chicken dices in the freezer for recipes like this.  If you have to grill them with your other prep, it will take longer than 30 minutes.

Weekend Wander #74

Sorry about the lack of party last week!  We made a super spontaneous road trip.  As in like we decided to go Thursday night.  Then, Little Monkey spent the whole night throwing up (I have the best husband ever, by the way.  He stayed up with sick Little Monkey and the two of them slept on the couch while I took Little Gator and we slept back in the bedroom.).  After that we were debating whether to still go or to stay home.  My sweet honey has a really close friend that deploys this weekend and we were going to see them.  We finally bit the bullet and left here about 6pm Friday evening.  It was about 2am when we finally got to our destination and then we stayed up visiting until 4am…  aww, good times.  If I learned anything, it’s that I am too old and have too many children to stay up til 4am repeatedly.

Anywho, that’s my excuse.  And on to the party!  From two weeks ago, we had some great links.

Kaysi @ Crafts Keep Me Sane shared this super cute Easter pillow.  I love the ruffles on those eggs.
If you want to pin this, please pin it from Kaysi’s blog by following the link above.

Thanks to everyone who linked up.  You guys make the party happen.  Stick around and enjoy what others have shared.  I know time is precious and even if you don’t have time to check out more than one link, at least make a visit to someone else…  No one likes to leave the party early so stick around and check out all the cool stuff out there.  Enough of that soap box.  And, let’s party!

Oh, one last thing…  Check out the 30 Minute Meals series that just started.  I’ve got a linky set up for you to share your 30 minute meals too.  Dunno about you, but I can always use new ideas.  Alrighty… annnd GO!

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
