Infant Tie Onesie

It was one of those mornings when everything went wrong. The alarms didn’t go off, the shoes were misplaced, the diaper bag wasn’t packed, we couldn’t find any of the three ties that fit our little boy. And to make matters worse, the baby was trying to take a drink of some lemonade and he dumped it all over the floor just before we were about to walk out the door. We watched with wide eyes and baited breath as the lemonade went all over the floor, but miraculously missed our son.  My Mr Right and I looked and each other and you could see us both thinking ‘whew, at least he didn’t get any on him.’ And then Little Monkey spits out a mouthful… all over his church clothes!  UGH!

Since then we try to have the diaper bag packed the night before, the shoes located and sometimes, when it’s one of those mornings, we just go with the tie that’s already attached to the shirt!

These are all over Etsy.  And aren’t terribly difficult to fashion yourself.  Get those creative juices flowing (or just whip out the plastic money and grab one for yourself from an awesome Etsy seller).

Thoughtful Thursday: Movie Date Night

We have had a pretty busy weekend and it just seems to be stretching out and following us.  I know that both My Mr. Right and I could use a little R&R.  While we can’t afford to go spend a few days just lazing around on the beach (that would be my first choice, anyway.  And preferably a warm, tropical beach…) we can take some time to just relax.  My honey is a movie buff.  Probably 50% of talking to each other is quoting movies.  Ok, not that high of a percentage, but it is quite a lot.  He watches a lot more movies than I do, which makes his movie quote library bigger than mine..  Not because I don’t like movies, I just don’t have the time!    And, lately, we’ve been quoting a lot, and I mean A LOT, of Finding Nemo.  Courtesy of the little monkey, of course.  Some times you just need a big person movie.  Just like I sometimes take a trip to Wal-Mart or Target or the Dollar Store to have an adult conversation, even if it’s just with the cashier at the check out!

So, this date night is low-key and simple.  Grab a movie you haven’t seen in a while, snag a new one from the $5 rack while you’re at Wal-Mart, put a good one in the Netflix queue or check out the instant watch options or even pay-per-view.  There are tons of options.  I’d recommend 500 Days of Summer, The Bounty Hunter or Love Happens  Pop some popcorn, grab a couple check out candies to share.  Don’t forget your favorite “treat” beverage.  Ours would be Dr. Pepper with fresh lime.  YUM!

Put the kiddos to bed, grab a cuddly blanket, pop that DVD in the player and settle in with your sweetie.  Enjoy your evening!

Etsy Exclusive: Suzy’s Artsy Craftsy Store

Have you checked out Suzy’s Artsy Craftsy Sitcom?  If not, you should!  She’s a hoot.  Well, Suzy also has a super awesome Etsy Store!  She is our ETSY EXCLUSIVE today.  And now… Here’s Suzy (and her Etsy Shop)!  Check these out:

Ukrainian Egg Ornaments can be displayed year round, but also make fabulous one-of-a-kind tree ornaments.  These real blown goose eggs are put through a batik-like dye process that uses bees wax and layers of color to achieve the end product. This process can take up to 10 hours depending on the design.  All eggs are sealed with several coats of polyurethane and make great gifts that last for years to come.  Most eggs measure 4 1/2″ – 5″ in length.  All eggs are sent gift wrapped and are priced at $40.00 each.  Be sure to stop by and check out the selection of designs.
I also offer Personalized Teacher gifts.  These miniature bears stand approximately 4″ tall and make a wonderful gift for your child’s favorite teacher.  Christmas is just around the corner, so give something unique that the teacher will treasure for years to come.  Priced at $18.00, which includes free personalization.
These silly Flip Flop Pillows can put a smile in anyone’s day.  Sewn with 100% cotton fabric, they measure 18″ long and can add funky style to any room.  Several different fabric choices are available.  Flip Flop pillows are priced at $20.00 each and make a wonderful, unique gift.
Thanks Suzy!  How neat are those eggs?!?  Gorgeous, right?  And what a cute gift for your kids’ teachers.  I know my sister would adore that flip flop pillow!  Suzy also has a great collection of ornaments!  Make sure you head on over to Suzy’s Artsy Craftsy Store.  You won’t regret it!

Wordless Wednesday: I am Grateful for my home

So, this year we find ourselves living with my parents.  My Mr. Right was at training one weekend with the Army when I got a text message from him.  The message went a little something like this: “Don’t spend very much money.  “Company X” just closed down.”  (Company X being none other than the company he worked for).  I read it and just about broke into tears… along with a fussy baby in the background.  Basically, our whole world changed in a matter of moments.  In two years, we’d been unemployed three times.  Seems to be the story for a lot of people right now.

My point being… Even though the situation is not ideal and there are currently seven people crammed into a 4 bedroom house (eight people come January), I am still grateful that I have somewhere to go at the end of the day.  True, it might just be the bedroom I share with both my husband and our 15 month old son, but at least it is somewhere.  And I’m grateful I have parents that are willing to help us find employment and open their home to us.  For however long we end up living here.  Although, please, Please, PLEASE don’t let it be too much longer!

Etsy Exclusive: Vinyl Flower Garden

I sometimes get the winter blues… you know… it’s cold all the time, the sun never shines, the bright colors of the other three seasons are long since faded into muted grays, browns, and whites.  Not bad colors, but a little bland and dull, right?  Well, keep your flowers blooming all year long with this flower garden!  The best part… Who cares if you forget to water it?!

Designed with love and yearning for a bright sunny day, this garden would make a great addition to any home or a great gift to any green thumb.  Get yours HERE!

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
