October Spooktacular: More Jack-O-Lanterns

I know it’s WORDLESS Wednesday, but I just have to point out how thick the walls of the Haunted House Jack-O-Lantern  are!  I thought I was going to die!  Or, at the least, my hand was going to fall off.  And, even though my little monkey was only 3 months old last Halloween, doesn’t he have a cute scarecrow pumpkin!

October Spooktacular: Witchy Hats

I made these the first year we were married and it’s one of my “go-to” Halloween recipes because it’s soo quick and easy! And incredibly cute! And cheap! See, it IS good!

WITCHY HAT COOKIES

Fudge Striped Shortbread Cookies
Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Any Halloween color icing

Open the cookies, unwrap the Kisses and put your icing in an icing bag. Note: A sandwich bag with the tip cut off works just as well. Just be careful not to cut the tip too much if you want to be able to decorate with it as well. Squeeze a glob of icing to the bottom of the Kiss and place it in the center of the shortbread cookie. It doesn’t matter if the cookie is stripe side up or not, just depends on the look you’re going for. Add an icing bow or a ring around the Kiss, if you’d like. Repeat until you have a nice little collection of Witchy Hats. Cute, huh? And I told you it was super easy!

We were lucky enough to have Jessica at Craftily Ever After link up her version of Witchy Hat Cookies to Weekend Wander this weekend.  Check them out too.

Weekend Wander #1

Welcome to the first WEEKEND WANDER!  Come flaunt what you’ve been up to.  Recipes, crafts, photographs, DIY projects, renovations, remodels, kid’s crafts, organization tips… anything FAMILY FRIENDLY is welcome.

The Rules:
1. All links MUST be family friendly.  Or I will delete it.

That’s it.  Don’t wanna be a follower?  Don’t (But I would love it if you would… Cool stuff happens here, don’t miss out!).  Don’t wanna link back?  That’s alright.  I understand that’s just one more thing in your already busy life.  If you like what you see and plan on being a regular, I’d love for you to add my name to your link party list (who doesn’t have one of those, right!?!) or my button to your blog.  Really don’t want to?  That’s ok.  I won’t tell you off or write you mean anonymous comments, promise!  I just enjoy seeing everyone’s ideas.  By linking, you are giving me permission to use your photos in a feature of your project.  Of course, this feature will include a link back to the original post.  Thanks!

Craftsy ‘Cause I Can: Halloween Subway Art (Printable)

Real quick, Just a Reminder to everyone about WEEKEND WANDER!  It starts tonight at 6PM PST.  Come link up anything you’d like (as long as it’s family friendly).  I’m so excited to see what everyone’s been up to.  Now for the good stuff!

This was originally my plan for today’s Fanciful Friday… alas, when my 14 month-old stuck a bobby pin in his ear, I did not have the time to get this done.  He needed a little extra attention and I needed to watch and make sure his hearing was still A-OK.  He’s doing just fine, but I wasn’t able to get this done in time for today’s post this morning.  But guess what I did during nap time today?  For your printing pleasure…

These are all 12×12″.  If you wish to print them as scrapbook paper, that’s just fine.  If you need to resize, it will turn out better if you trim all the edges and cut some of the words off rather than stretching or condensing the original.  Click the image, save it to your computer and then print from there.  Any questions or problems, let me know please!  I hope you enjoy!

October Spooktacular: Coaster Remake

I found these coasters at Michael’s for 50 cents!  Score.  My first thought was “I could so find something to do with those.”  Ok, I admit… that wasn’t my first thought.  It was more on the lines of “Bleh.”

But it was quickly replaced.  I had a couple ideas, but what I had planned for this Fanciful Friday didn’t turn out.  So, this is the back up plan.  It’s just scrapbook paper and letters cut from cardstock with my Cricut.  Covered with modge podge.  Super simple.  The Little Monkey likes them too.  And that’s always a bonus!  Enjoy!

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
