#Waverize It! A Sewing Caddy

This post is sponsored by Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores.  I was provided with fabric to complete the project, but all opinions are 100% honest and content in this post is 100% original and true to the best of my knowledge.

September is National Sewing Month.  It’s also Waverly’s 90th anniversary.  If you are much of a seamstress, no doubt you know of Waverly.  They have some of the most awesome fabric. Waverly is my go-to for fun, bright and cheery home decor fabrics.

To celebrate, Jo-Ann and Waverly are hosting a Waverize It! Contest.  It’s a Facebook contest open to all consumers… does that mean YOU?  If so, grab some super cute Waverly fabric and get to sewing, lady!  Or gent… if that applies to you.  Oh, did I forget to mention that the grand prize is $1,000 in Waverly Fabric and a $250 Jo-Ann gift card?!  Did you just squeal a little bit or was that just me?  So, what are you going to create?  So many choices, right?

Looking for a little inspiration?  Well, here is my creation.  I saw a sewing caddy one night scrolling through Pinterest and thought, “Oooh, good idea.”  But, I didn’t pin it…  The more I thought about it though, the more I wanted one.  And not just like wanted a little, but like ‘ignore-my-kids-and-not-make-my-husband-dinner-so-I-could-make-one’ wanted one.  But I wanted to make sure it had all the important pockets and other accessories on it.  I started planning and doodling to get it just right.  What do you think?

I will post a tutorial on my sewing caddy next week…
but here’s all the goodies I put on my sewing caddy:

So, what are you waiting for?  Go get some cute fabric and stitch up something fun.  Who knows?  It might just be worth a big ole’ stash of awesome fabric and some gift card lovin’!  Enter the Waverize It! Contest on Facebook.

I’ve Been Waiting for You, Autumn Printable

So, it’s September. That means Autumn, right?! Well… it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s here. The blazing sun fills our days. Putting on a sweater or scarf is the last thing I want to do. But maybe you are starting to see the leaves change and feel that little nip in the air as the sun begins to set? Whether you’re still waiting for Autumn or if it’s knocking at your door, this Autumn printable is just for you.

Autumn is that great time of year when those cozy sweaters and boots and scarves get to come out of the closet. The trees look like they’ve been lit on fire, their blazing colors standing bold against the sky. Autumn brings some of the greatest holidays of the entire year. Some of the richest flavors and warmest foods spice up an Autumn day. That deserves to be celebrated.

Welcome Autumn with this print on your mantle, piano, or other favorite place to decorate for the season. Celebrate your favorite things about Autumn with this seasonal art you can print and frame right at home. Or get creative and use it in your Fall craft projects. This print will last all the way through November!

Meet the Contributors!

Today, I have some new friends to introduce to you.  These ladies are crazy crafty and super talented.  They will be here periodically over the next several months to share some super fun things with all of you!  I can’t wait to see the goodies they come up with, because I just know it’s gonna be awesome stuff.  So, let’s meet these gals!

In no particular order:

Hi! I’m Lisa Mabey from Mabey She Made It where I blog about DIY crafts and sewing. Creating is my way of expressing myself and staying sane, and I love that blogging gives me a way to interact with other creatives. I’m a stay-at-home mom to two girlies, and nap time is definitely my time. I am a book-loving, chocolate-eating, British-adoring girl who just tries to make everything a little more beautiful than when I found it.

Find Lisa Here:

Hi!  I’m Rebekah and I blog over at Somewhere in the Middle.  I’m mama to two sweet girlies and we have a ton of fun crafting, creating in the kitchen, and living life together.  We just started homeschooling as well, and I share bits and pieces of all of these things on my blog.  This is my first time working as a contributor and I’m super excited to be able to share some ideas with While He Was Napping readers!

Find Rebekah Here:

Hey there!  I’m Amanda from Our Grace Filled Life. I’m a Jesus lover, wife, mommy, blogger, fitness instructor, natural health enthusiast, head {home} chef, decorator & refurb junkie. That mostly covers it.  You’ll see a little bit of everything on Our Grace Filled Life, hope you’ll join me!

Find Amanda Here:

Hey there, I’m Christina at SWEET HAUTE and I’m a wife, mother, blogger, and life enthusiast. La Dolce Vita is my inspiration for everything ‘the sweet life…’! I love to organize, create, bake, and take lots a pictures along the way. Join me during my efforts to realize the sweetest life possible for my family!

Find Christina Here:

I’m Virginia and I love seeing art in everything around me.  I love to share my creations with others. One of my favorite quotes by Erma Bombeck reads… “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything You gave me.”  I live my life by this quote.  You can find me blogging at Artsy VaVa.

Find Virginia Here:

I’m Elisha from Pneumatic Addict Furniture. I’m an overly independent, hairstylist who loves furniture, thrift stores, and watching Nova documentaries. I come from a background of serious DIYers. Growing up, I don’t remember either of my parents EVER hiring anyone to do ANYTHING! One of the main goals of my blog is to demystify tools and the lumber section of the hardware store. Girls can use power tools too!

Find Elisha Here:

You can also find all these ladies on the Contributor’s Page.

Are you excited to get to know these fun ladies a little better?!  I sure am.  These ladies will begin posting in October, just in time for October Spooktacular!  It will be so fun to see all the fun things they come up with for the holidays!  Definitely go over now (well, in just a few minutes…) and follow these ladies on their blogs too, so you don’t miss any of their fabulous posts there either.
We’ll see these girls all again starting in October.  Don’t worry though, I’ve got some fun things planned for September too.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will have some guest posters come to share some fun things with us.  These ladies may join us as regular contributors, as well.  So, be on the look out for them too!

Here’s what you can expect:
Sept 5 – Terry from Tin Can Weekend
Sept 12 – Julie from Our Thrive Life
Sept 17 – Victoria from Creative Home Keeper
Sept 19 – Michelle from Michelle Paige
Sept 24 – Kate from Uniquely Undone
Sept 26 – Jillian from Mom’s Cup of Ambition

We’ve got some awesome posts coming our way.  I can’t wait to see what great things these gals come up with.  The topics and hints they’ve given me are fabulous and I can tell you that you’re not going to want to miss any of them!  I’ve also got some more exciting announcements and fun posts coming your way… but you’ll just have to wait for those…

Weekend Wander #138

Welcome back, everyone!  Eep, sorry I was MIA all week.  I had some fun posts planned and then Sunday night my hubby asked me, “Hey, you wanna go to the coast with me.  I’ve gotta go for work and it’ll be a lot of driving, but do you want to come.  I’m leaving tomorrow…?”  And what I actually heard was “Hey, you wanna go to the coast……”  Yeah, sorry guys.  The sea will always win.  Even when it’s coupled with practically zero internet access, hours and hours and hours of driving, and a brush up lesson on what poison oak looks like.  We’re still waiting to see if I passed that test or not by whether a rash shows up in the next few days… on me or Big J.  Hopefully, we aced it.  Fingers crossed.  It was a quick, fun trip and Big J had the time of his life.  I love watching my kids have fun.  Here’s just a sneak peek at what we did this week…

 From last week:

What a good reminder at Snippets of Inspiration.
Who doesn’t want to ditch the diapers?
The Jenny Evolution gives some good pointers.
Thank you to everyone who linked up!  It was a pretty awesome party.  If you missed it, go check it out!  And now… let’s party!  Annnnnnnd, gooooooo!

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
