Weekend Wander #9 Features

Again, it’s Tuesday before I post this.  Sorry guys.  This week’s Wander was small and intimate, but there were some great things linked.  Check it out, these were some of my faves.

Delina at Dew This made this too cute Nativity set!  I need one of these for Little Monkey, then I wouldn’t spend all day telling him to “be soft with Baby Jesus”.  I feel like that’s the only thing I ever say anymore.
Look at this super cute tree topper over at Red Heads Craft More Fun.  And she made it incredibly frugally.  Take that $29 Pottery Barn topper!
Oh my goodness, how clever is this?!?  Very, that’s how.  Over at It’s Toile Good, Allison made these cute book paper packages.  What a neat idea!
There were a lot of other cute things, so go check it out!
Here’s a Featured button for you ladies.  Enjoy!  Thanks for sharing!

12 Days til Christmas: Naughty or Nice Love Coupons

“…He’s making a list and checking in twice, gonna find out who’s naughty and nice…”

This is one naughty list you won’t mind being on. This week’s printable is a naughty or nice coupon template.  I’m not sure about the rest of you, but we’re still pinching pennies over here so Christmas is going to consist of a whole lot of homemade.  I’ve made a couple of personalized signs (in case you missed those they are here and here, the second one would make a really cute teacher gift.  I’m just saying.)  I’ve made a Church ABC’s Picture Book for Little Monkey.  I made two terra cotta gumball machine candy jars.  I’ve made Display Blocks.  And those are pretty much the gifts we have given so far… minus the ABC book… that’s a stocking stuffer, but he’s one and can’t read so I’m not so worried about him finding out about it.  So, while I am spilling the beans that My Mr Right is getting a coupon book, that’s probably no less than he expected.

Here’s the template.  Click the image, then right click the image, then save it to your computer.  You can open it up in Photoshop or even Paint and fill in your love coupons.

I have 52 ready-made love coupons.  One for each week of the year.  I plan to offer to let him use one on our date nights each week… Easy date night spicer upper (yes, I just said spicer upper) and we actually use the gift.  You can purchase the 52 Ready-to-Print love coupons from my Etsy shop for $15.  I worked for hours (literally hours) on these… Feel free to take advantage of my cheap labor.

They are four to a sheet, 13 sheets and will need to be printed, cut apart and then put together however you would like to present them.  Oh, as part of the 52, there are 12 Naughty and Nice (a little more risque), so if you don’t want to use those, you’ll need to make 12 more love coupons for a whole year’s worth.  I printed mine on card stock with my Canon printer.  I’m hoping to laminate them, we’ll see, and then just tie them purdy with a ribbon and insert into stocking.  Ta-DA!  Enjoy.  Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!

12 Days til Christmas: Super Simple Fudge

Do you have a favorite holiday recipe? Tricia over at Leafy Treetop Spot has a fun linky party going on where you can share (and find) favorite holiday recipes. Head on over and link up some of your faves… after you check out this super simple fudge recipe, of course.

Photobucket

Fudge is a holiday classic and this recipe is easier than easy, and it stores wonderfully in the fridge.

Super Simple Fudge

Ingredients
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Place chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in large microwaveable bowl. Zap in microwave on medium until chips are melted, about 3-5 minute, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts, if desired. Pour into well-greased 8×8-inch glass baking dish. Refrigerate until set.  Of course, you can also melt the chips in a pot on the stove with your milk and butter, I usually do it this way, but in a pinch, the microwave is quicker.  Enjoy!

Weekend Wander #9

AHHH!  So, I’m just sitting here, twiddling my thumbs… ok, not really, and it hits me (like slap in the face, “Oh Crap!” kind of hits me) I didn’t put up Weekend Wander this morning.  AAGHH.  Fail for me.  On a high note, all of my Christmas shopping is done.  Now, let craftopalooza 2010 begin.  I still have quite a few gifts to make, bt at least now I have all the supplies.  Ok, enough yapping from me, and presenting the reason you’re really here:

I'm Krista. Ringleader here on While He Was Napping, wife to my handsome Mr. Right & momma to my THREE energetic boys, Big J (9), Little J (6) & Little N (4). We FINALLY added a beautiful little girl to our family last December.

I’m knee-deep in Tonka trucks & Thomas trains. I survive our crazy days with Vanilla Coke, Sonic slushies, sweet snuggles and little giggles. When I tuck them in tight & kiss them good night, I get a little time to create & just be me.
